The historical action drama Chhaava, starring Vicky Kaushal and Rashmika Mandanna, continues its triumphant run at the box office. Directed by Laxman Utekar, the film, based on the life of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj, has captured the audience’s interest since its release on February 14. As it enters its 13th day in theatres, Chhaava is inching closer to the coveted ₹400 crore mark in domestic earnings.
Box Office Performance
According to industry tracker Sacnilk, Chhaava collected ₹21.75 crore on its 13th day, bringing its total domestic box office collection to an impressive ₹385 crore. The film benefited from the Maha Shivratri holiday, witnessing a significant boost in revenue.
On day 12, the film earned ₹18.5 crore, while day 13 saw collections rise to ₹21.75 crore. It maintained a solid 34.10% occupancy in Hindi screenings across the country. Morning shows recorded 25.23% occupancy, which increased to 40.64% in the afternoon and remained strong at 36.42% in the evening.
With these numbers, Chhaava has already surpassed the ₹200 crore milestone and is set to join the ₹400 crore club in the coming days. Additionally, the film has been performing exceptionally well overseas, taking its worldwide earnings past ₹250 crore, making it the highest-grossing Indian film of 2025 so far.

Chhaava is based on Shivaji Sawant’s acclaimed Marathi novel of the same name, chronicling the life and legacy of Maratha ruler Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj. Vicky Kaushal portrays the titular role, while Akshaye Khanna plays Mughal Emperor Aurangzeb. The ensemble cast also includes Rashmika Mandanna, Divya Dutta, and Diana Penty in pivotal roles.

The film has not only won the hearts of audiences but has also received praise from political figures. Earlier this month, Prime Minister Narendra Modi lauded Chhaava during his speech at the 98th Akhil Bharatiya Marathi Sahitya Sammelan, acknowledging its impact on Hindi and Marathi cinema.

Adding to its success, the makers have announced that Chhaava will soon be released in Telugu.
