An FIR was registered against AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal on Tuesday, just hours before Delhi’s Assembly elections, over his claims that the BJP-led Haryana government was "mixing poison" in the Yamuna River. The case, filed at Shahabad Police Station in Haryana’s Kurukshetra, names Kejriwal and unknown AAP members under various sections of the BNS.
Haryana CM Nayab Saini dismissed the allegations as “irresponsible and factually incorrect,” even drinking water from the Yamuna to prove its safety. The Delhi Jal Board also refuted Kejriwal’s claims, while the Election Commission directed him to provide evidence.
PM Narendra Modi slammed Kejriwal’s statement as a desperate move fearing election defeat, calling the allegations "disgusting" and questioning how Haryana would poison water its own people drink.
