Ghosh, Ahuja Shine as RCB Pull Off WPL’s Biggest Chase

Vadodara, February 14, 2025: Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) delivered a stunning performance to achieve the highest-ever successful chase in Women's Premier League (WPL) history, defeating Gujarat Giants by six wickets after chasing down a massive 202-run target.

The incredible victory was powered by Richa Ghosh (64 off 26 balls)* and *Kanika Ahuja (30 off 13 balls)**, who put together a match-winning 93-run partnership in just 37 balls. Their heroics ensured RCB crossed the finish line with eight balls to spare, completing an unforgettable comeback.

Gujarat Posts a Massive Total

Gujarat Giants, after opting to bat first, relied on a strong performance from Ashleigh Gardner (79 off 37 balls)* and Beth Mooney (56 off 37 balls) to post an imposing 201 for 5.

Gardner was the standout performer, smashing three consecutive sixes in an explosive innings that saw Gujarat score 49 runs in the last three overs.

RCB’s Sensational Chase

Despite a solid 57-run knock from Ellyse Perry, RCB faced an uphill task, needing 93 off 46 balls after her dismissal. However, Ghosh turned the game on its head with an onslaught in the 16th over, taking 23 runs off Gardner, while Ahuja played the perfect supporting role.

Their fearless batting ensured a record-breaking chase, making it a night to remember for RCB fans.
