Oleh Syniehubov, the regional head, reported that the young boy was pulled from the rubble with severe head injuries and fractures but tragically did not survive despite extensive resuscitation efforts. Ukrainian Interior Minister Ihor Klymenko stated that many victims sustained injuries, and a 15-year-old boy remains unaccounted for, feared trapped under the debris.
Amid rising assaults, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy renewed calls for the United States to supply Ukraine with long-range missiles, which would allow Ukrainian forces to target Russian air bases involved in these assaults. Zelenskyy posted a video of the heavily damaged building on social media, urging allies to speed up military aid to help Ukraine defend against these attacks.
Russian forces also launched missiles at the Dniester Estuary bridge, a critical link in the Odesa region, though it’s unclear if the bridge sustained damage. Ukraine’s air force intercepted two of the ten missiles targeting the structure.
In addition to missiles, Russian forces deployed 43 drones across nine Ukrainian regions, with Ukrainian defenses managing to neutralize 40 of them. Debris from intercepted drones caused minor damage in Kyiv’s Podil district, north of downtown.
In response, Ukraine carried out its own drone strikes, including one targeting the Russia-occupied port city of Berdyansk on the Sea of Azov, which injured three individuals. Meanwhile, Russia’s Defense Ministry reported intercepting 21 Ukrainian drones across various regions, underscoring the intense aerial conflict in the region.
