Mumbai: Indian cricketer Yuzvendra Chahal and his wife Dhanashree Verma have officially parted ways after months of speculation. The couple’s divorce was finalized on Thursday at the Bandra Family Court, bringing an end to their marriage.

Divorce Granted After Mutual Consent

According to reports, both Chahal and Dhanashree appeared in court for the final hearing, where they confirmed their decision to separate. The judge initially advised the couple to undergo a 45-minute counseling session, but after the session, it was clear that both wished to proceed with the divorce on mutual terms.

The court granted them a legal separation at around 4:30 PM, citing ‘compatibility issues’ as the primary reason behind their decision. Reports further suggest that the two had been living separately for the past 18 months, indicating that their differences had been ongoing for quite some time.

Social Media Posts Hint at Emotional Journey

Ahead of the final hearing, Chahal shared a cryptic post on social media, expressing his faith and gratitude.

"God has protected me more times than I can count. So I can only imagine the times I've been rescued that I don't even know about. Thank you, God, for always being there, even when I don't know it. Amen."

Dhanashree, too, took to Instagram with a message about faith and resilience, writing:

"From stressed to blessed. Isn’t it amazing how God can turn our worries and trials into blessings? You can either keep worrying or surrender it all to God and choose to pray about everything."

While neither directly mentioned the divorce, their posts strongly hinted at the life transition they were undergoing.

A Relationship in the Spotlight

Chahal, a key leg-spinner for the Indian cricket team, and Dhanashree, a well-known dancer and social media personality, had been one of the most talked-about couples in the sports and entertainment world. They tied the knot in December 2020, but in recent months, rumors of their separation had surfaced, fueled by cryptic social media activity.

Despite maintaining silence on their personal matters, the couple’s absence from each other's social media feeds and the absence of public appearances together further fueled speculation.

Moving Forward

With the divorce now official, both Chahal and Dhanashree seem to be focusing on their respective careers. Chahal is expected to continue playing a key role in India’s cricketing commitments, including the upcoming tournaments, while Dhanashree remains active in the entertainment and influencer space.

While fans may be disheartened by the end of their journey together, both have expressed faith and optimism in their social media statements, suggesting that they are embracing this change with a positive outlook.
